The British Barbers' Association are once again bringing the finals of their prestigious barbering competitions to the NEC.
BRITISH BARBERS' ASSOCIATION BARBER OF THE YEAR
The cream of British barbering will once again get its chance to shine with the launch of this year's British Barber of the Year competition.
Hosted annually by the British Barbers' Association (BBA) with support from Andis, BBA male grooming range and Booksy, the competition aims to find out who truly is the best of the best when it comes to the UK's barbering scene.
Open to all BBA members, entrants must submit three photographs featuring different models and demonstrating their abilities in fading, flattops and creativity by 29 March 2018.
A shortlist of just 8 semi-finalists will then by chosen by a panel of the BBA's top judges to compete live at Barber UK, Birmingham NEC, on Monday 21 May 2018.
The two highest scoring finalists will then go head-to-head in the BBA's very own boxing ring showcasing their creative cutting skills to be crowned British Barber of the Year 2018.
As well as the coveted title, the winner will receive the prestigious BBA British Barber of the Year belt, £2000 prize money and men's grooming products worth £500. The runner-up will also receive a BBA plaque, £500 prize money and £500 worth of products.
Entry is open to all BBA members. Cost of entry is free, as is membership of the BBA for those not already members.

STUDENT BARBER OF THE YEAR
The British Barbers' Association (BBA) has launched the National Student Barber of the Year 2018, competition supported by VTCT and Mr Barber, to discover who's got what it takes to be ranked amongst the next generation of British barbering talent.
The competition will give learners the chance to develop their skills and demonstrate their technique to their peers, as well as be recognised for their exceptional achievement.
Entrants will be able to compete in three separate categories - basic haircut and finish (level 2), basic facial hair design (level 2) and precision, creative cut and finish (level 3) - by submitting two photographs (front view and side view) of work they have done, unassisted, by 13 March 2018.
Winners will then be chosen at a specially convened judging day by a select panel of BBA judges, with the first-placed entrant in each category receiving their awards, plus a prize of £500, on stage at Barber UK, Birmingham NEC on 21 May 2018, in front of BBA members and the press.
Second and third place runners-up will also receive a certificate of merit, a trophy and a good bag of industry products.
